LOS CHULOS HOT DOGS
Street vendor-Downtown Tucson
Everyone says that when you visit
Tucson, you must have a Sonoran Hot Dog. I must agree after having one at a
local street vendor in Downtown Tucson. The owner of the cart, Francisco, takes
a steamed bun, and loads it up with a bacon-wrapped all-beef hot dog, fresh
onion, grilled onions, jalapeno salsa, cheddar cheese, fresh tomato, mustard,
and a drizzle of mayonnaise.
Though it doesn't look very
appetizing, the taste is AMAZING!!!!
You must have one when you visit,
but I would suggest going to a street vendor...don't bother going to a
restaurant that serves them, much of the greatness of this southwest treat is
in the love that is put in by each individual vendor.
