PLAYING IN WMCQ IN ST CHARLES!!!

Greetings guys!!!
So we arrived at the St. Charles Convention Center, ready for an amazing day of judging. I was on emergency staff for this event, and unfortunately, there were not 600 or more players, so I was informed that I would not be judging. I had left all of my cards in the hotel room, but a judge had me covered, handed me a deck, and I entered the WORLD MAGIC CUP QUALIFIER. I was qualified for the event, now had a deck in hand, so why not!
This is the decklist I ran, which I ended up going 5-2-1, taking 20th place.

1 ELIXER OF IMMORTALITY
1 TORPOR ORB
4 FLASHFREEZE
1 RATCHET BOMB
1 WURMCOIL ENGINE

This deck is an absolute BLAST to play!!! There were a few changes I would have made,(1X tragic slip for treasure mage, 1X inkmoth for phyrexia's core)  and if I had tested with it, I think that I would have won the early round loss and tie that I took, and made TOP 8.
The decks I played were as follows:
ROUND 1: R/G AGGRO....ROFFLE-STOMP
ROUND 2: U/W DELVER.....GOT CURB-STOMPED
ROUND 3: NAYA POD....ROFFLE-STOMP
ROUND 4: U/B CONTROL.....MISPLAYS TO A FREAKING DRAW
ROUND 5: W/B LIFEGAIN...SWUNG WITH 5X WURMCOILS, THEN ULT TEZZ FTW!!!
ROUND 6: R/U DELVER....BONFIRED OUT GAME ONE, 3X DELVER TURN 2 GAME 2
ROUND 7: GERRY T DELVER.....ROFFLE-STOMP
ROUND 8: NAYA AGGRO.....ROFFLE-STOMP

I think I will run this decklist for standard tournaments that I play in until rotation, so reliable, and with multiple win-cons, it allows for players to adapt to situations, and recover from play mistakes.

Day two I did 2 drafts, lost my ass, but EV'ed both of them, with vexing devil, restoration angel and reforge the soul in the first, and cavern of souls in the second. I then entered the GPT sealed, and got wrecked....my pool sucked and I simply got outplayed. I then entered the 3rd draft, and beat the piss out of all opponents, only dropping one game. G/W aggro (21 creatures) FTW!!!

I had an absolute blast, and combined with the local community, this event, though smaller than expected, was a success from my perspective.

Until next time!!!
Mikey
